A nostalgic look back at the past, which is worth buying if you are a big fan of this era.

Wrestlefest 88 seems very much like an early In Your House, as in an event but not one of the main players. Consequently although it has many of the stars from that era, there are some weaker ending and the matches are of mixed quality.

There are some really good matches, the Rougeaus vs Killer Bees is a great start, and is followed up by a solid match between the Hitman and Bad News Brown. After that the matches are pretty poor, but it does pick up later with a strong match between Jake Roberts and Rick Rude, which has some great "afters" also. The Buldogs - Demolition and the cage match between Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan are also solid bouts. The cage adds an interesting dynamic to the Andre-Hogan fued and makes for an interesting match, although you feel perhaps they could've made more of the oportunity and created a very good match instead of a solid one.

WrestleFest 90 is a collection of matches put together for a video, and so consequently doesn't have any of the atmosphere of an event, and hangs together rather weakly. Having said that the matches picked are pretty much all solid or better again making it rather watchable.

The first set of matches are all rather good (although again suffer from the lack of clean endings as not a PPV). The Savage Piper match is good, suprisingly so is the Warrior-Bravo match, and Martel and Beefcake keep up a very solid programme.

What follows is the Hart Foundation compilation, which was the reason I brought this DVD set. Truth be told I was a little disappointed in it. It's not that the matches are bad (the Rockers one in particular is pretty good) but none of them are anything special or magical. Compaired to their Summer Slam matches vs Brain Busters or Demolition these are pretty ordinary. All three matches are decent, but are not quite what you hope for.

Wrestlefest 90 closes with a good match between Perfect and Hogan, followed by one of the weaker matches on the cards between Warrior & Jake Roberts vs Akeem and Ted Dibiase. The latter seems to be a better match on paper than in reality, and is pretty mediocre. Hogan and Perfect however pretty much do what is expected of them.

Overall, the advantages are:
- you see all the stars of that era
- there are some good matches in the two DVDs
- they're matches you're unlikely to see elsewhere

DIsadvantages
- lack of good clean endings
- a lack of atmosphere and occasion
- a lack of wow/great matches

This is a DVD for fans of that era which won't disappoint. However, it won't amaze either.

For an old school wrestling fan like me these early tagged classics are a blessing. As previously mentioned by someone first DVD was great but second DVD was more a Hart Foundation profile and various matches thrown in. But still very much worth buying, especially for all us old school fans. Keep up the great work Silvervision, i have all read pre-ordered U.S. Rampage '91 & U.S. Rampage '92 DVD (2 Discs)

4/5 stars for me

A fun classic release but certainly not a must own. The second disc is mostly profiles and various matches from different shows thrown together rather than one show.
