I remember this PPV fondly. It came during a year with few standouts. But the 2006 Unforgiven was easily the best of the year.

The opening match with Umaga vs. Kane is, as you'd expect, a brawl (I kind of get bored with Kane 'brawl' matches, but this one is quite good). Carlito & Orton is also pretty tidy. These are good 'mid-card' matches, from four men all running on a full tank. They're nothing 'standout' in a business where PPVs are every month, but they are good card fillers and nobody disappoints. Then you get Spirit Squad vs. Highlanders. I loved the Highlanders, both gimmick and in ring. This is a match with some good storytelling, some excellent double-teaming (tag team is a tragic loss to modern day wrestling). Really surprisingly good stuff, considering both teams were 'joke' teams. Really good.

So up to now, you've had really strong - if not spectacular matches. Then you get Lita vs. Trish. It's Trish's farewell match. What saddened me was the lack of crowd reaction for this match. But the match is, again, tidy if nothing out-of-this-world. I remember watching it hoping to heck that Lita wouldn't ruin it, but she didn't - both women worked their butts off and gave us something fitting to end Trish's career on. The crowd reaction notwithstanding, just pretty good wrestling from two pretty good wrestlers.

Nitro vs. Hardy... Again, both men had their game on and put on an awesome match, with Morrison making his offence look strong and Hardy bumping like the spot-monkey he was born to be. Really great match.

Then the DX vs. McMahon Hell in a Cell. I don't like HitC very much - there, I said it. It's overrated, it's diluted, it's just usually a bloodletting exercise. Well, this match is quite bloody - Shane looked... horrible. Really horrible. But all five men worked an amazing match, one of the more memorable Hell in a Cells - certainly in the top five. Good match. And who can forget the Big Show's bum meeting... Ah, I'll not spoil that for you. :)

You'd think then that the main event would have a lot to live up to, if the HitC was so good. And it's right, it does... And it does it magnificently. The single one-on-one TLC match contested here is, in my opinion, the best contested to date. The storytelling is fantastic, the wrestling clean and sharp. Edge and Cena have heat, and the spots are memorable. The conclusion is one of the best in TLC history - really, really - and I just enjoyed the whole match. It was at this point I started to realise that I liked the 'spot' elements of Cena's work (but not necessarily his 'normal matcn' elements). Edge was as awesome as ever (he'll be missed!).

Package all of this with extras, mainly DX and Trish themed - I do miss DVDs with Extras like this - and you've got a very very good, well-rounded DVD. Unforgiven was the best PPV of 2006 - hands down. Nothing was bad in it, most things were decent, and some things were sensational. I can't recommend this PPV enough - and it's aged really well. Buy it, you fools!

it was a good ppv in the john cena match people were boowing him for the first time that was a good match cena vs edge the bit were cena thorwed edge on too tables were sick!!!!!!!!but nothing could top the hell in the cell match that was brutal escecilly shane peeps dont spend your money on judgment day 2003 get this ppv!!!!!!!!

Great PPV at all, one of the best events you will find!

Jeff Hardy vs. Johnny Nitro

Great opener, quick match, cool spots but the in ring story wasn't that great. Finish was okay, good for their story.

Very Slow but okay big man match. It was just a brawl and a card filler and so it is not a big problem at all.

D-Generation-X vs. McMahons & Big Show/ Hell in a Cell

Great match with a great matchstory. It was brutal, exspecially the finish with the huge sledgehammer shot or the elbow drop with the chair. It was not the most violent hell in a cell match but certainly the bloodiest even before hhh vs. jack. It the match there was also the well known comedy from DX which makes it a little bit funny when they kill each other. The build up was good and a well deserved feud finish.

Trish Stratus vs. Lita

This was the Stratus farewell match in her hometown Toronto an so it was very emotional because it was against her rival Lita. It was certainly not the best technical match on the card but I enjoyed it when the greatest female performer of the 21th century retiered with the Sharpshooter and she won her last title with standing ovation from the fans. She got a great retirement storyline instead of pushing cryme tyme..........

Edge vs. John Cena/ Tables, Ladders & Chairs

Better than I thought it would be. In my opinion the match of the night, the only match which was very good at that night. Great build up, great matchstory, great spots, great finish, great crowd, what can anyone want more? It was not a classic but not far away from beeing one.

Like I said before a great PPV, just one really bad match but it is worth the money.
