Last Man Standing WWE Championship Match 5/5
John Cena vs. Batista

What a brutal and physical Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship. This match was non stop back and forth action with a lot of close 10 counts, involving both superstars. This has to be match of the night for me and both Cena and Batista put on one heck of a main event for the WWE Championship.

Steel Cage Match 4/5
Edge vs. Chris Jericho

Great match between Edge and Chris Jericho, as this was a great way to end their rivalry within the inside of a steel cage. A lot of close escapes from the cage for Jericho and a lot of punishment for him as well as Edge totally destroyed Jericho towards the end of the match with a few throws into the cage and of course the ultimate SPEAR.

Extreme Makeover Match for the WWE Women%u2019s Championship 3/5
Beth Phoenix vs. Michelle McCool

I have to admit that this was a pretty good divas match and liked the use of the ironing board. The right diva won and was very pleased for her on becoming the new WWE Women's Champion.

Street Fight 4/5
Triple H vs. Sheamus

Should have been the first match of the night, but got moved to a later part in the show and have to admit that it was a very brutal Street Fight between Sheamus and Triple H. Triple H was kind of out of the picture, but he didn't back down too easily and did put up a bit of a fight in.

Extreme Rules Match for the World Heavyweight Championship 3/5
Randy Orton vs. Jack Swagger

Not over the top extreme, but some weapons did get used e.g. steel trash can and steel steps. A steel chair was used, but Orton felt the wrath of the chair when Swagger threw him onto it.

Strap Match 3/5
JTG vs. Shad Gaspard

Though pretty short, but good overall. I liked the way that the strap was used by both superstars and the right man won.

If CM Punk Loses, He Gets His Head Shaved 4/5
Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk

Great, great match between Punk and Mysterio. I always enjoy these two facing each other and they always put on a match that makes you get out of your seat and this match certainly did for me.

Gauntlet Match 1/5
Big Show & The Miz vs. R-Truth & John Morrison vs. MVP & Mark Henry vs. The Hart Dynasty

Didn't really like this match as it was a complete waste of pay-per-view time and nothing special happened in it and all I can say is that it shouldn't have been added to the match card.

What can I say but this was a very, very good pay-per-view which in my opinion did live up to it's name and I'm sure that every WWE fan will enjoy it, especially the main event for the WWE Championship, which was the Last Man Standing Match.

Don't let the title fool you into thinking that this PPV is Extreme wrestling/entertainment

The DVD has 3 highlights:
1) Triple H using a kendo stick for a brief moment
2) The ironing board in the womens match
3) Seans farewell speech on RAW (DVD extra)

The way the 'last man standing' match ends is terrible!

Absolutly terrible PPV
I don't know why they called it extreme rules, there was nothing to it
We seen about one table and a couple of chairs come out and the main event was terrible
Save your money and buy a half decent PPV like money in the bank or over the limit

This years Extreme Rules, didn't really have an 'Extreme' feel to it, but it did have some excellent wrestling, and there wasn't one bad match on the entire card. The ShoMiz Gauntlet Match wasn't great, but it made its purpose of making The Hart Dynasty look good. Punk and Mysterio nearly stole the show, and the last two matches (The Steel Cage Match Between Edge and Jericho, and The Last Man Standing Match between John Cena and Batista), were both excellent. I'd recommend this review to anyone, because this is a very watchable Pay-Per-View, with 3 Matches that are easily worth a second look. Review Score: 8.5 out of 10.

Match Star Ratings:

Tag Team Gauntlet Match
The Miz and The Big Show vs Morrison/R-Truth, Mark Henry/MVP, The Hart Dynasty: *1/2

Last Man Standing WWE Championship Match
John Cena vs. Batista *****

I really enjoyed this Last Man Standing Match between former WWE Champion Batista and the current WWE Champion John Cena. Really enjoyed the way on how this match turned out, this match got very extreme and was surprised on the outcome. Both superstars were punishing each other badly with weapons and moves but in the end Cena found the solution to keep Batista down by wrapping him with tape round the ring post where Batista could not get up on his feet. This match was the true highlight of this PPV when it involves two of the best in the business.

Steel Cage Match
Edge vs. Chris Jericho ****

A very good Steel Cage Match between Jericho and Edge. This was far the better Steel Cage Match than the one that took place at Extreme Rules 2009. This match had some great spots including Edge getting his payback on Jericho when Edge used the Steel Cage to hurt and punish Jericho for what Jericho has done to him in the past.

Extreme Makeover Match for the WWE Women%u2019s Championship
Beth Phoenix vs. Michelle McCool ****

A very extreme and good divas match between Michelle McCool and Beth Phoenix. I liked the use of weapons used in this divas match which included the likes of sprays and iron boards.

Street Fight
Triple H vs. Sheamus ***

This was supposed to be the opener to the PPV but got ruined by a backstage showdown which ended with Sheamus striking Triple H with a steel pipe. An ok street fight between these two, not really the best because of Triple H's physical condition but The Game did not back down. Only a little amount of weapons were used but Sheamus put the boot in by striking Triple H with at least 5-6 kicks to the face.

Extreme Rules Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Randy Orton vs. Jack Swagger ***

Nothing really special in this match to talk big about as it started out as a 10min ordinary singles match. The match did have some fun spots when Orton striked Swagger with a trash can and Orton using the steel steps to damage the head of Swagger. Felt that Orton should have won this match but Swagger prevailed to then being RKO'ed.

Strap Match
JTG vs. Shad Gaspard **

An ok match between two superstars that were a successful team, that turned into enemies. A good use of the strap was used but the match didn't how you say excite me that much into giving this match a big review.

If CM Punk Loses, He Gets His Head Shaved
Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk ***

A very good match between Punk and Mysterio. These two always put on a great match and shame that Punk didn't get his head shaved at this particular event.

Gauntlet Match
Big Show & The Miz vs. R-Truth & John Morrison vs. MVP & Mark Henry vs. The Hart Dynasty **

Throwaway match really that could have been done another time, it was an ok tag gauntlet match that ended up a great team winning.

Extreme Rules was the event where every match had a stipulation and is now replacing Backlash to give way to mania rivalries being continued, or new ones starting. Let's see how it went

The Street fight was meant to start but Sheamus had other ideas, which spoilt the contest to a degree, see match review later.

Gauntlet match to determine no. 1 contenders for Unified Tag Team Championships
ShoMiz vs. R-Truth & John Morrison, MVP & Mark Henry and The Hart Dynasty

Basically a throwaway filler that you can see on any weekly show, the wrestling was fine but it was obvious who would win even though the teams participating were not announced. I await the upcoming rivalry with anticipation. 2/5

If CM Punk loses he gets his head shaved
CM Punk vs. Rey Mysterio

These two are great and what a rivalry this is turning out to be I loved this match, which surpassed their Mania contest and was heavily hyped. I could not guess the winner and the ending, though we have seen it before, felt fresh and appropriate. I really want there to be a third encounter and I think there will be at Over the limit. However back to this match it was consistently entertaining and very professional in appearance. Full Marks. 5/5

Strap match
JTG vs Shad Gaspard

Quite an extreme contest with some really hard shots, both guys tried hard with this and though it was not exactly memorable or perfect the match breezed along so well that you did not really have time to pick on any flaws. Also the ending was well delivered and quite surprising, not sure where either man goes from here though. 3/5

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Extreme Rules
Jack Swagger (c) vs Randy Orton

A promising start to Swagger's spontaneous title reign and I think it is obvious that he is being groomed as the new Kurt Angle, not quite there yet but improving. Orton delivered yet again and though the match was not that extreme, it was still hard hitting and nasty in parts. I think this is the end to their short rivalry but it worked out quite well, despite not living up to its stipulation. 4/5

Street Fight
Triple H vs Sheamus

This was good but dissapointing, the whole injury event provided a good battle of heart angle to the match but in effect made the match a little slow and dull at times. The second half was much better than the first and there were a few brutal moments, although the ending was a little long drawn out. These two put on a good fight but this should have been a bit better. 3/5

WWE Womens Championship Extreme Makeover match
Michelle McCool (c) vs Beth Phoenix

This was a little messy, literally, basically this was a good house keeping match and though the weaponry (if you can call it that) was used, this was not really extreme. Vickie managed to botch a few spots, even though she was a manager but it didn't really hurt the match too much. Yes this was a bit sloppy but there was some solid moves and the right person won, this was way ahead of manias divas match. 3/5

Steel Cage match
Edge vs Chris Jericho

This was a fantastic contest, brutal, suspenseful and very well performed. Both men delivered a great match and improved upon their mania match, this was probably the best way to have these two fight. I did not know how this would end end and ironically that was the problem, after a fast and furious match, the brakes were activated which made the ending slow and a little unsatisfying, and it did not quite fit. Still an extremely good match. 4.5/5

WWE Championship Last Man Standing match
John Cena (c) vs Batista

This was the most extreme match on the card and boasted plenty of standout spots, with a lot of carnage. The ending was very unique and smart for this match type, the match gave the fans some different things and there was a few weapons used. It is 3-0 for these two now, another great match in their entertaining rivalry, worthy of all the hype. 5/5

Extreme Rules was not better than Wrestlemania but it was close, a great effort and though the event was not completely extreme the Pay Per View delivered and provided some great wrestling action. 4/5

I watched this ppv last night (repeat) it was good, better than what i expected. Here is what i think of the mathces.

Extreme Rules World Heavyweight Championship Match
Jack Swagger vs. Randy Orton
This match was great, the best of the night, when Orton hit Swagger with the Trash Can, WOW ii was loud the hardest i have ever heard, even the Commentaters (Michael Cole, Matt Striker & Jerry ''The King'' Lawler) said ''WOW what a shot from Randy Orton. Great match i can't wait to order this and watch this match again.

Last Man Standing WWE Championship Match
John Cena vs. Batista
This match was the best of all 3 matches these guys faced eachother. (SummerSlam 2008, WrestleMania 26, & Extreme Rules 2010). Great Attitude Ajustment from the Steel Steps to the Announce Table, Cena never knocked Batista out, he straped his legs with Duck Tape to the Steel Post.

Steel Cage Match
Edge vs. Chris Jericho
WOW. what a match, great performances from both superstars, it had 1 of the best CodeBreakers ever, Edge was satnding on the ropes and Y2J was standing on the top Turnbuckle and Y2J jumped to Edge and CodeBreakerd Edge, it took 2 Spears but Edge picked up the win.

Street Fight
Triple H vs. Sheamus
This match was suppose to start the show, but Sheamus beat Triple H up and wasn't able to compete, but Triple H came out anyway, good match, better than i expected but it took 4 kicks for Sheamus to pick up the win.

Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk
What a match, t=The Straight Edge Society got banned from Ringside after Serena touched Rey Mysterio, but CM Punk picked up the win thanks to a mystery man that obviously is joining The Straight Edge Society cause he was completly bald, i know who it is so if you dont want to know who it is stop after i say this is who it was. This match was good better than WrestleMania 26, but i think they will face at WWE Over The Limit (May 23rd) but we will see. Ok this is who helped CM Punk win. Stop reading now if you dont want to know.

It was Joey Mercury.
If you dont remember him he was in MNM (Mercury, Nitro & Melina).

I watched this PPV live on Sky Sports and i have to say, i found it rather disappointing.
The card was rather solid and i thought that it would be good, last years Extreme Rules PPV was good and had memorable moments, but this Extreme Rules didn't feel like a PPV where every match was extreme it felt more like a normal PPV with several stipulation matches involved.

In terms of the matches, i was pleased with some of the results but the quality of the matches i found rather disappointing.

The Steel Cage match i thought was a bit too long, the match was going well until the last few minutes, where the momentum of the match died and i found myself wanting the match to finish already, because it was rather obvious who would win at that point.

The Last Man Standing match was rather average, for a Last Man Standing Match. It had its moments, but since i am not a fan of Cena or Batista i found it a boring match, the ending although creative and unique was rather frustrating, after all that they had done to each other in the match, an ending like that seemed to kill the match a bit.

The Divas match was surprising, i didn't expect that amount of weapons to be used and the commentary was pretty funny, which did put you off the match a little, it was an alright match, for a divas match.

The Strap match, which i wasn't really interested in turned out to be rather good, the ending was quite good.

Triple H vs Sheamus was probably the best match of the night, it was exactly what you expected, a good 'ol street fight, not much grappling and submissions but what you would expect and Sheamus looked really good bringing it right to HHH making quite a memorable match, especially the ending.

Jack Swagger vs Randy Orton was good but a rather average match, it was more like a good TV match than a PPV match, it had a few good spots but nothing special.

CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio was the second best match of the night, the story leading into the match was good and i found their Wrestlemania match a bit short and i was nice to see this match given alot more time, as the match progressed it become more unpredictable who would win and the ending was great, leaving a nice touch to the match.

It was also nice to see ShoMiz at the show, because i love Miz's mic work, always entertaining. Seeing a Gauntlet tag match was great and a nice touch to the night, a nice surprise.

Overall, the PPV was below average, it wasn't as extreme as i thought it would be which i found a bit annoying, but did feature some memorable moments and seemed that it wouldn't have made so much difference if the PPV was called Backlash.
